Cross Country

Cross Country

The sun popped out from the horizon like an egg hatching.
I was quivering like a camel in antarctica, the trees wore sheets of ice.
Swarms of flies covered the rutted floor of the field. BEEP! All of a sudden my legs carried me past the screeching parents, past the starting line and almost past my waist and up!

My feet moved as fast as they could possibly go, my legs carrying my body, my body holding onto my legs for dear life and lastly my face scrunched up, red like an apple!

Finally I reached the starting line again,  I had survived the first lap!

Another excruciating lap after another, it went as slowly as it could possibly go until finally I was on my last lap. Kim was walking with a bright, shiny number 1 placed on her miniature hand! She had finished the race already! That just made me slow down completely! I started to become the same pace as the fattest man on his daily jog.

But before I knew it I was reaching the gritty, grotty finish line.
I was there I HAD FINISHED THE MOST PAINFUL THING OF MY LIFE!

I was standing there, me, myself and I my legs bleached with mud, my heart pounding like wild geese, my hair flapping in the breeze and finally my surprised face at how long I had run for. Well at least how long, I thought i’d run for!

The End.

Why it's better to live in the country rather than the city

I very strongly believe that living in the country is better than living in the city and here are the reasons why you should agree with me; lots of animals, homemade/ fresh food always on your pate and fresh air/ you’re always outside!

Lots of animals means always getting love and you're always learning about how they live, what they eat and how they play. There are some yucky parts though cleaning cages/ poo! or washing the smelly animals. But still your learning plus it’s a fun way of learning your playing with animals.

Ok now for one of the best parts of all, YOU GET HOMEMADE FRESH FOOD! Imagine waking up every morning to freshly made cheese or milk! Or making it yourself [that sounds like me!] This is making my stomach rumble!

Imagine waking up every morning and going for a walk on the green, fresh bushes and and all you smell is freshly cut grass. The mud oozing between your toes. Your fresh mind full of wonders. And school which is outside, it means you’ll learn more because your in fresh air.

So now do you believe that living in the country is better than the city? I hope you do because there are other reasons why you should live in the country including your budget! [its cheaper!]

Why animals should be left in the wild

I absolutely believe that animals should be left in the wild, here are some of the many reasons why: embarrassment, separation and loss of instinct!

Imagine pooping in front of a couple hundred of other children who are staring at you or rolling on the ground laughing because of that. Or even having no privacy to hide from those nasty children, teasing you with delicious, juicy food so you start chasing them backwards and forwards like a maniac!

Secondly separation. How about this, say you’ve just had a child and like a week or two later that precious, fluffy, little baby of yours is ripped right out of your hands and you never even get to see that precious little baby again! Or imagine if that baby was you you getting ripped right out of your loving mothers hands!

Boom, Crash< Bang< Aaaaahhhhhhh! Hearing that makes you feel disorientated doesn’t it?
There was an earthquake and you were FREE! But you didn’t know how to defend yourself. You get picked on, punched at and brutally bullied for the rest of that same day! The next day you expect your breakfast all prompt and ready for you, you wait for days on end but still that food was not there for you. You’re hungry but yet you have to wait longer until you die! This would happen because you lose your instincts unfortunately this has happened to animals!

I hope you will come on my journey to stop some zoos and save some lives! Cause trust me its free, follow me!

Testing Animals

Have you ever stopped and thought about that lotion you put on your face  or that lipstick you put on your lips to make you look younger and more beautiful.  You do this every morning, just to impress that one boy?
Then all that effort goes to waste because that one boy doesn’t notice you?
Whats the point? Do you actually believe that lotion is making you younger or prettier. So why do we do it day after day month after month year after year century after century.
All you’re doing is practically killing innocent little animals you might aswell just inject those bad chemicals right into that fluffy little bunny’s leg!
Well this is what i’m going to talk about today, how that lotion and lipstick is affecting innocent animals. And how you can help stop it.
Here are some interesting facts about testing animals:
The first ever living things to go into space were 2 dogs Belka and Strelka, 40 mice, 2 rats and number of plants.

But the first reptiles to reach the moon were a pair of Steppe Tortoises, sent by a company called Soviet Zond 5 All of these animals returned alive.

Some of the “dead,” animals that were killed in laboratories  were then shipped to schools where the children like you and I were given sharp, pointy scalpels and were told to cut the innocent animals up. So they could learn about the inside world of animals. Is this necessary? Do you have to pick up that blade and slit open that little animal?  When you can look on the internet or youtube.

92% of the experiments that are safe and effective on animals actually fail on humans because they are too strong. This means the animals all die. Such a waste of a cute animal.

Lots of the chemicals were forced down the animal’s throat, dripped into their eyes and onto shaved skin.
But why didn’t they send humans to space instead of animals?
Well the reason for this is: people think that humans are more important in life than a few very innocent little animals.
Anyway lets look on the good side of things, for example, the United Kingdom have banned testing animals in 1998 and the European Union banned it in 2009 so thumbs up for them!
Though I do have to say so myself there are a couple of companies that don’t test products on their animals here in New Zealand for example: Avon and Revlon. So my advice is always check the label and see if the product is tested on animals or not and don’t support the companies that don’t support the animals.
So that lipstick and lotion aren’t as important after all are they?
Do you want to save some animals
I hope you do because it’s very simple just simply stop putting lotion and lipstick on your face.
Show the world what you can do!

How I was scarred for life.

How I was Scarred For Life

It smelt like body odour, rat droppings and poisons from the lab.

Now I can hear ear piercing screeches coming from the extremely annoying boys. Straight away I started to walk away then my body turned me to class 5F, suddenly I swung open their door and looked directly to the left at exactly 6 girls dancing on a table. Then I looked to the right and right there was a wacky, wide, witchy, women. It was Miss Snapple Apple sellotaped to the wall with rats covering her like a bleeding rash. Without warning I creeped over to her, she was kicking frantically as if she was dodging gunshots! Immediately I tried to move away but I couldn’t move fast enough then THWACK! She managed to whack me down down like a lion chasing its prey. I felt dizzy and couldn’t move at all, I was an ice cube melting in flames.

At last I woke, as I opened my eyes I saw like a million eyes peering at me. Immediately I jumped up and sprinted back to my classroom blushing and extremely embarrassed. I was scarred for life! By Laura McKinney
